Following the announcement of his addition to the star-studded line-up of performers at the upcoming Hey Neighbour festival last month, a new turn of events have seen organisers announcing that Nigerian superstar Rema, along with two other artists, would no longer be performing.

The highly anticipated music festival is scheduled to take place from 8 to 10 December at the Legends Adventure Farm in Pretoria.

“Organisers of the upcoming Hey Neighbour Festival set to happen next weekend regretfully announce the withdrawal of Rema from the festival’s performance due to health reasons,” a statement read.

“We send our best wishes for his recovery and hope to see him on our stage in the future.”

In further blows, American rapper and singer Duckwrth, dealing with vertigo, will not be performing while JZyNO will also not be in attendance “due to unforeseen circumstances”.

“The festival team looks forward to welcoming attendees to an unforgettable event filled with incredible music and memorable experiences,” the statement continued.

While these three artists might no longer be billed to perform, festival-goers can still forward to performances from international acts such as Kendrick Lamar, H.E.R and Swedish House Mafia.

Locally, they can look forward to seeing, among others, Mafikizolo, Zakes Bantwini, Black Motion, DJ Zinhle, Mörda and Kelvin Momo, among others.
