South Africa’s first impeached Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane is now an MP sitting among the very lawmakers who planned her downfall.
Representing the EFF, Mkhwebane will now be known as “fighter honourable Mkhwebane”.
On Friday, Deputy National Assembly Speaker Lechesa Tsenoli presided over the swearing-in of Mkhwebane and her colleague Virgil Gericke, a community activist from George in the Western Cape.
