Bafana Bafana players are the biggest losers in the stand-off between the Premier Soccer League (PSL) and the South African Football Association (SAFA).

The consequence of the sour relationship between these two bodies will be felt at the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) next year, despite early warning signs in the last three months.

In the last three international breaks – in October, September and this month – Bafana coach Hugo Broos has been forced to make changes to the initial squad he named when the team assembles for crucial matches leading up to the Afcon.
