Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres has dismissed rumours of a potential January move despite his remarkable form currently.

The Swedish forward, who has netted 28 goals and provided seven assists in 23 appearances for club and country, is reportedly a target for several Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal.

Speaking to Fotbollskanalen, Gyokeres stated, “It’s not something I think about, nor something I give any importance to.

“It’s just rumours, nothing concrete. Of course, I want to finish the season at Sporting. I’m enjoying my time there.”

Gyokeres also addressed speculation about a reunion with Ruben Amorim at Manchester United, following Amorim’s recent departure from Sporting:

“It’s very sad that he left, but of course, we understand the decision. He probably already has strikers there.”

Despite these comments, Gyokeres’ release clause, reportedly set at £63 million, makes him an attractive option for top clubs seeking a prolific striker.

His recent Champions League hat-trick in Sporting’s 4-1 win over Manchester City, further makes him a most sort after player for clubs.

The 25-year-old has a history in English football, having previously played for Coventry City before joining Sporting Lisbon.
