The BMW M340i was first launched in India back in 2021 and got a minor update in December 2022. And now, BMW India has launched the 2024 BMW M340i sports sedan in the Indian market. The updated sedan gets minor cosmetic changes, new colour options and additional features inside. Interested customers can book the new M340i online or by visiting their nearest dealership and the deliveries will begin soon.
There are no changes made to the exterior of the car, the sedan now features Jet Black 19-inch alloy wheels and the colour palette has been updated with two new colour options – Arctic Race Blue and Fire Red. Other shades available are Dravit Grey and Black Sapphire. The sedan continues to sporty front and rear bumpers, sleek LED headlamps, a twin exhaust setup and a kidney grille.
Moving inside, the dashboard design and the overall layout remain the same as before and the feature list continues to be the same. The M340i has now updated the operating system from 8.0 to 8.5. Other features include a free-standing curved instrument panel that houses a 14.9-inch curved touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting, three-zone automatic climate control, front and rear parking sensors, 464 Watts Harman Kardon sound system and more.
Safety wise, it gets multiple airbags, cornering brake control (CBC), a 360-degree camera, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). BMW has introduced Vernasca leather seats with contrasting M (blue-coloured) stitching and the three spoke steering too has received minor tweaks. The prices for the BMW M340i have increased by Rs 2 lakh, up from Rs 72.9 lakh. The M340i competes with the Mercedes-AMG C 43 and the Audi S5 in India.

Mechanically, the sedan remains unchanged. It continues to get a 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six, petrol engine which puts out 374bhp of power and 500Nm, it comes paired with an 8-speed gearbox which sends power to all four wheels. It has claimed 0-100kmph time is 4.4 seconds, making it the quickest BMW to be produced in the country and the quickest ICE-powered car to be built in India. The performance sedan now gets the adaptive suspension as standard. BMW claims the the ride height can be lowered by 10mm.
