The Mind of the Martyr | Ebube Chukunweiken

Words don’t tell lies
They live in their essence

Who can fathom the true words’ essence?
Who can unravel the depth of the word ‘LOVE’:
Driving the apostles; John, Peter and James through death for gospel’s sake?

How a man martyred for what he believes
From whence was the convictions so strong to let axes through their necks for Christ’s sake?
And Stephen under the sun
Beaten, stoned for the words’ sake?

Arrows and bows set for those who claim and speak of the most high,
Marchets and guns for those who work in his will to make Christ’s name known

Jesus our example,
The sacrificial lamb for our salvation;
Crowned King of the Jews, replaced for barrabas, given venigar for water, pieced to the skin all for our salvation.

And why do we stand watching the unharvested souls unbothered?
Watering down the essence of the lamb’s blood.
