Murder-accused Werner de Jager appeared in the Amanzimtoti Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday in a bid to secure bail.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has asked the Amanzimtoti Magistrate’s Court to keep suspected wife killer Werner de Jager behind bars for the duration of his murder case.
The NPA said this would demonstrate to the public the justice system did not tolerate violence against women.
On Tuesday, defence lawyer advocate André May and prosecutor Gayle Greyling presented their final arguments before magistrate Zamanyuswa Nyuswa during De Jager’s bail bid.
