Speaker, APC Chair, Others Grace Ibagun Ward Campaign Flag-off

Mammoth crowd of party supporters and well wishers witnessed the flag off of the campaign of the councillorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ibagun Ward of Ilorin East local government area of Kwara State.

The event was held at GDSS Amule, Okelele

The speaker of the State House of Assembly, Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, the state APC chairman and his deputy, Prince Sunday Fagbemi and Alh Abdullahi Samari respectively, led the pack of dignitaries that attended the colourful event.

Speakers after speakers took turns to eulogized the state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for the milestones recorded by his administration across the 193 wards in the state, and most especially in Ibagun Ward.

They described AbdulRazaq as a God- sent leader and the best civilian governor in the history of the state.

The Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu emphasized the significant achievements of Governor AbdulRazaq’s administration, noting that the developmental strides are evident not just in Ibagun Ward, but across all 193 wards within the 16 local government areas of the state.

He acknowledged the Ibagun ward’s immense population, economic strength, and strategic importance, which he believes qualify it for local government status.

He called on the people of Ilorin East to vote overwhelmingly for all APC candidates in the forthcoming local government elections.

The speaker commended the governor’s leadership and urged Kwarans to align with the party’s vision for continued growth and development across the state.

The state chairman of APC), Prince Sunday Fagbemi, formally presented the party’s flag to the APC candidates, including the chairmanship, vice-chairmanship, and councilorship candidates for Ibagun Ward.

Fagbemi highlighted the importance of the forthcoming polls, underscoring the need for the party to secure an overwhelming victory across all polling units in Ilorin East, particularly in the strategically significant Ibagun Ward.

He urged all party stakeholders, including campaign council members and canvassers, to redouble their efforts by highlighting Governor AbdulRazaq’s achievements.

He stressed the need for grassroots mobilization to ensure a resounding victory of all APC candidates in the September 21, 2024 elections.

Speaking with newsmen, the senior adviser/ counsellor to the governor, Alh Saadu Salahu listed the governor’s achievements in Ibagun Ward to include the construction of Jagun- Alagbado road, Dada road, Kankatu- Samsudeen road, Okelele – Ontiku – Akerebiata road, Ayegbami – Alagbado road, various interlocking roads, Dada Health Centre, amongst others; and appointment of indigenes of the area into positions of authority.

Salahu who expressed the gratitude of the people of Ibagun/ Okelele community to the governor for his love for the community, assured that the they will deliver Ibagun Ward to APC in the forthcoming local government elections as they did during the 2019 and 2023 general elections.

The event was also marked by prayers led by prominent Islamic clerics in the area while Sheikh Mohammed Jamiu Ajijola Anabi, and Sheikh Mustapha Wole- ola delivered lectures.

Other dignitaries that graced the occasion include the chief of staff, Alh AbdulKadir Mahe, the Non- executive director of NNPCL, Dr Ghali Alaaya, commissioners for Solid Minerals, Dr Afeez Abolore, commissioner for Education,Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo-Kawu, state secretary of APC, Alh Mustapha Isowo, state APC women leader, Alhaja Falilat Mohammed, the director general of Ilorin East APC Campaign Council, Hon. Ali Jimoh, senior special assistant, Religion ( Islam), Alh Ibrahim Danmaigoro and senior special assistant on Security, Alh Muyideen Aliyu.
