Family members of the victims in the Soshanguve mass shooting have questioned whether law enforcement is bungling the case after the investigating officer temporarily lost track of one accused, while the case of his co-accused was struck off the roll.
During the early morning hours of New Year’s Day, four people, including a 14-year-old girl and an off-duty police officer, were gunned down in Soshanguve Block P, also known as Jukulyn.
A day later, on 2 January, police arrested the first two people, Tshepo Mosemeni and Sipho Kgomo. They subsequently appeared in court, where the matter was postponed for a bail application.
