Sokoto to go tough on school property vandals

The Sokoto State Government has pledged to take strict measures against anyone caught vandalising school property in a bid to maintain the quality of education across the state.

This was stated by the Executive Chairman of the Sokoto State Universal Basic Education Board, Umar Tambuwal, during an unscheduled visit to Marafa Danbaba Model Primary School in Sokoto South Local Government Area on Tuesday.

In a statement released by the board’s Public Relations Officer, Murtala Danladi, Tambuwal emphasised the government’s commitment to safeguarding educational facilities, assuring that those responsible for any damage would face the full extent of the law.

Tambuwal stated, “The Executive Chairman pledged to provide more security and portable water as well as upgrading the school to the status of Junior secondary school very soon.

“He also noted that the board has constructed new blocks of classrooms and toilet facilities towards complementing the efforts of the current administration under the leadership of Governor Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto in that direction.

“Anybody caught vandalising the school property would be made to face the wrath of the law as the government is doing everything possible to ensure a conducive learning environment in every nook and cranny of the state.”

The Executive Chairman and his entourage were at the school with a view to assessing its real situation.

Members of the entourage during the inspection visit Include Board Members, Alhaji Abdulkadir Gada, Alhaji Garba Sarki as well as other principals of the board.
