Conservation authorities are implementing a host of interventions to reduce the number of rhinos poached from the Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park in KwaZulu-Natal.

The province saw 325 rhinos killed last year, with 307 of them taking place within Hluhluwe-iMfolozi.

During a briefing on Tuesday, Forestry and Fisheries and Environmental Affairs Minister Barbara Creecy said Hluhluwe-iMfolozi was “facing the brunt of poaching cases” and had sustained the “highest poaching losses within [the] province”.
