Governors of the Peoples Democratic Party are in an emergency meeting in Abuja over the recent crisis rocking the leading opposition party.

PUNCH Online gathered that the ongoing meeting is being held at the lodge of the Bauchi State Governor and the Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, Bala Mohammed.

The forum will also host an enlarged session, including members of the National Working Committee, the Board of Trustees, the National Assembly caucus, and the Forum of the former PDP Governors.

As of the time of this report, those at the meeting include Siminalayi Fubara (Rivers), Ademola Adeleke (Osun), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), and Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau).

Others include the Acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum; National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, National Organising Secretary of the party, Umar Bature (retd.); and Secretary of the BoT, Ahmed Makarfi.

Although the agenda of the meeting was unavailable to journalists, it is understood that some of the issues to be addressed are having a substantive chairman for the party, convening a national executive committee meeting, and preparations for the forthcoming Ondo state governorship election.
