A popular columnist with Turkish outlet Hürriyet, Uğur Meleke, says Victor Osimhen is far above the Turkish Super Lig, predicting that the Nigeria striker will score 30 for Galatasaray this season baring bad luck and injury.

The prophecy that is fast gaining traction across the Turkish top flight, came on the back of Galatasaray’s 3-2 win over Samsunspor, where the Nigeria striker scored a brace to take his tally across all competition for the Turkish champions to eight besides four crucial assists.

“If Osimhen does not experience any injury or bad luck, it would not surprise me if he scores 30 goals this season,” wrote the columnist.

The 25-year-old arrived from Napoli on a season-long loan in September and has contributed a lot to Galatasaray in a short time, making two assists and scoring six goals in as many league matches. The former Lille star has also scored two goals and provided one assist in three Europa League matches.

His sterling performances have endeared him to even more suitors who are looking to pounce in January, but the player has promised to serve out the loan term at Galatasaray, with a return to Napoli not on the card.

Napoli are opening the door at €75m and the player desires a move elsewhere as soon as possible, a welcomed development for Galatasaray, who want to turn into an advantage with plans to increase the transfer fee to €50m and are negotiating with the Chinese bank ISBC for the star player’s transfer fee.

The club’s president, Dursun Özbek, recently met with Osimhen and told him, “Don’t rush; wait for us. We want to continue with you.”

Osimhen was recently linked with a move to Fenerbahce, with their head coach, Jose Mourinho, expressing his desire to have Osimhen on his team.

According to a popular Turkish outlet, Yenisafak, the club are intensifying efforts to sign the player, with their president, Ali Koç, quoted as saying, “Look, I’ve been in office for a while. I’ve learnt from my mistakes. So now I’m going; I’m trying to get Osimhen’s transfer fee. I’ll get him; I may not get him, but I’ll try.”
