An end appears to be in sight to the political impasse in Ondo State as members of the State House of Assembly, on Tuesday, agreed to suspend the ongoing impeachment process against the state’s deputy governor, Lucky Ayiedatiwa.
The lawmakers took the decision at a meeting with the National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja.
Also present in the meeting held at the party’s national secretariat, were members of the Aminu Bello Masari-led 9-man reconciliation committee and the Ondo State party chairman, Ade Adetimehin.
The Abdullahi Umar Ganduje-led NWC had recently inaugurated the reconciliation committee.
Addressing journalists after the meeting, APC national chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, and Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, confirmed the development.
