Lagos State Sports Commission Director General Lekan Fatodu has thrown his weight behind Lagos-based teams FC Robo and Dannaz Ladies ahead of the 2024/25 Nigeria Women Premier League season, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Speaking just before the commencement of the league on Wednesday, Fatodu expressed confidence in both teams’ ability to make the state proud following their impressive pre-season preparations.
“Robo FC and Dannaz Ladies have shown tremendous dedication, and I am confident they will make Lagos proud this season. We expect them to set the pace with strong performances in their opening games,” Fatodu stated.
FC Robo, who have established themselves as consistent title contenders in recent years, will be looking to challenge for the championship, while Dannaz Ladies aim to build on their debut season in the top flight.
“The entire state is behind you, and we look forward to celebrating your successes throughout the season,” Fatodu added.
The LSSC boss also praised both teams’ coaching staff and players for their hard work during pre-season, assuring them of the commission’s continued support throughout the campaign.
Fans across Lagos are excited to rally behind the two teams as they embark on their respective campaigns, aiming to bring glory to the football-loving state.
