Christopher Nkunku delivered a standout performance, scoring a hat-trick in Chelsea’s dominant 5-0 win over League Two side Barrow in the Carabao Cup.
The French striker opened Chelsea’s account within the first eight minutes, finishing a pass from Joao Felix with a composed volley.
Just seven minutes later, Nkunku added his second, skillfully flicking in a Malo Gusto cross.
He completed his hat-trick late in the second half after Barrow goalkeeper Paul Farman mishandled the ball near the goal line, gifting the forward an easy finish.
His hat-trick earned him a standing ovation as he was substituted to rest ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League clash with Brighton.
Chelsea’s third goal came from a Felix free kick that deflected off the post and into the net off Farman for an unfortunate own goal.
Pedro Neto also added to the scoreline early in the second half, capitalizing on a mistake in Barrow’s midfield.
It marked his first Chelsea goal since joining from Wolves.
Ben Chilwell, who had been left out of recent squads, also made a second-half appearance, marking his first game since April.
Chelsea’s win sees them advance to the Carabao Cup fourth round.
