Pedro Neto came to Chelsea’s rescue as he scored the equaliser for the Blues in their Premier League match against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Neto’s thunderous strike in the 70th minute cancelled out Gabriel Martinelli’s opener for the Gunners, which had come 10 minutes earlier.

The return of Arsenal’s captain, Martin Ødegaard, to the squad after a lengthy injury was a boost for the team.

His eagle-eyed vision and precise passing came into play when he lifted the ball to Martinelli at the back post.

The Brazilian attacker took his time to control the ball before slotting it past Sanchez into a tight corner, putting his team in the lead.

World Cup winner Enzo Fernández took possession of the ball and fed it to Neto, who unleashed a shot past Arsenal keeper, David Raya.

Earlier in the game, former Chelsea player Kai Havertz had his goal disallowed after a check by the Video Assistant Referee in the 32nd minute.

Also, Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson had his goal ruled offside by VAR in the 75th minute.

The Gunners almost regained the lead when Leandro Trossard squandered a golden opportunity by smashing the ball over the crossbar.

Another chance went begging in stoppage time when Trossard failed to secure the goal that would have guaranteed his side a place above the hosts.

Both teams now have 19 points, with five wins, four draws, and two losses.
