According to numerous reports Conte’s Napoli have reportedly commenced talks with Borussia Dortmund to sign Karim Adeyemi.
Serie A giants Napoli have reportedly initiated talks with Borussia Dortmund regarding the potential transfer of German international Karim Adeyemi in January 2025 transfer window. Unlike earlier indications, the Bundesliga side is now open to allowing the winger to depart in January rather than waiting until the summer.
According to GGFN, Napoli previously submitted a verbal offer of approximately €40 million for Adeyemi.
The 23-year-old winger has endured a challenging season, featuring in only nine of Dortmund’s 18 Bundesliga matches due to injuries. Despite his limited appearances, he has managed to score twice and register three assists.
Adeyemi had initially ruled out a mid-season transfer, emphasizing his commitment to helping Dortmund improve their current 10th-place standing in the league. However, following the recent dismissal of head coach Nuri Şahin and reports of Dortmund’s willingness to negotiate his exit, the player may now reconsider his future.
It appears the club’s stance on retaining Adeyemi has softened, suggesting they are no longer particularly invested in whether he stays until the end of the season or departs this winter.
It is believed that Napoli are considering Adeyemi as an alternative in an instance where their pursuit for Man United’s Garnacho is not successful given the interests of top clubs such as Chelsea.
Antonio Conte seems to be focused on strengthening his side ahead of a new season and it remains to be seen if such moves would produce the desired results and he would have a side strong enough to take their battle for the 2024/2025 Serie A title to the final game.
