The single is an Amapiano fused with Afrobeat and soul elements. The track depicts a celebration of God’s faithfulness over the years, and also thankfulness for his debut album release. He is working on his second album titled Songs of Victory. Nathan is not signed into any record label and he looks forward to being signed under one.
Nathan while advising young gospel artiste said, “for the up and coming artiste their focus should be more on fellowship with God so that when they face some challenges they won’t leave their ministry to do circular music.”
In a further interaction with POINTERS’ international corespondent in Nigeria, he commented on the role of the church in encouraging your and coming singers. He highlighted the following:
Platform for Performance: Churches should provide a platform for young gospel singers to showcase their talents. They often have dedicated choir groups or worship teams where young singers can participate and lead worship services. This allows them to gain experience, build confidence, and develop their skills.
Vocal Training and Mentorship: Many churches should offer vocal training programs or have experienced musicians and singers who provide mentorship to young gospel singers. They should teach vocal techniques, help with song selection, and guide them in developing their unique style and expression.
Worship Services and Events: Churches should regularly organize regular worship services, concerts, and events where young gospel singers can perform. These occasions allow them to reach a broader audience and receive feedback and support from the congregation. It also helps in building their stage presence and connecting with the listeners.
Collaboration and Networking: Churches should create opportunities for young gospel singers to collaborate with established artistes and musicians. They may organize special musical events or invite guest performers, providing young singers with exposure to experienced professionals and potential mentors.
Songwriting and Music Production: Churches should sometimes encourage young singers to explore their songwriting abilities. They may offer workshops or support them in recording and producing their original gospel music. This helps in nurturing creativity and expanding the repertoire of gospel songs.
Youth Choirs and Music Programs: Many churches have dedicated youth choirs or music programs where young singers can participate. These programs often provide structured training, rehearsals, and performances tailored to the needs and talents of young singers, fostering their growth in a supportive environment.
Encouragement and Spiritual Guidance: Churches should play a vital role in providing emotional support, encouragement, and spiritual guidance to young gospel singers. They can create a nurturing environment where singers can find comfort, inspiration, and motivation to pursue their passion for gospel music.
Scholarship and Financial Support: Some churches that can afford it should offer scholarships or financial assistance to young gospel singers who show exceptional talent and dedication. This support can help them pursue formal music education, attend workshops, or invest in equipment necessary for their musical development.
Overall, churches act as nurturing communities that encourage and uplift young gospel singers by providing platforms, training, mentorship, performance opportunities, and emotional support. Their involvement fosters the growth of young talents and helps them develop a strong foundation in gospel music. Otherwise, we begin to see many of them tilt towards to circular music style where most times their talents are appreciated.
