Manchester United’s forward player, Marcus Rashford, has reportedly agreed on a move to join another Premier League side, Aston Villa, on a loan deal.
Several media outlets confirmed the news of the forward player’s rumoured move to Aston Villa on their various websites on Saturday, February 1, 2025. According to these reports, Unai Emery shared the template of how he wants to run the club with Marcus Rashford, and it did go down well with the player.
The 27-year-old has not featured for United since being dropped by head coach Ruben Amorim for the Manchester derby on December 12, 2024. Amorim initially said he would rather give a place on the bench to his 63-year-old goalkeeping coach because of a perceived lack of effort by the striker.
What did Ruben Amorim say about Marcus Rashford?
The Portuguese international highlighted that the team should be better with Marcus Rashford but the forward player must show desire that he wants to play before he can be selected.
“Imagine a talent like Rashford, our team should be so much better with him but he has to change. If he changes, we are more than welcome [to include him] – and we need it. But in this moment we have to set some standards. We are waiting for Rashford if he wants it really bad.”
Rashford has been with United since he was seven-year old having made more than 400 appearances, won the Europa League, two FA Cups and two EFL Cups.
He has scored 138 goals for United including his best season which saw him score 30 goals in the 2022-23 season.
