Manchester City confirms Vitor Reis as its second signing

Manchester City have confirmed Vitor Reis as its second signing of the January transfer window in a bid to solidify their team as they get to the second half of the season.

The Cityzens confirmed the signing of the Brazilian international on its official website on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. According to reports from the club, Vitor Reis signed a four and a half year deal which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2029.

He played 22 times for his boyhood club, including 18 games in the league and two matches in the Copa Libertadores. Vitor Reis performance earned him national recognition as he was named in the Trofeu Mesa Redonda Team of the Year for all Brazilian football across 2024.

Reis expressed his excitement on the club’s website stating that it was the best decision for him to join Manchester City.

“I am excited to join Manchester City, one of the biggest clubs in the world. Everyone has seen the amazing achievements in recent seasons, and I want to make my mark as we seek more trophies. Working with Pep Guardiola is something every young player wants to do, and I know he can help me to develop into the best player I can be.”

Guardiola and City supporters will hope that the young defender lives up to the expectations.
