A Nigerian man identified as Alex has been arrested for allegedly attempting to use a lady for ritual purposes in Abuja.

Alex was said to have kidnapped the lady, whose name is Olivia, and held her captive at the Top View Hotel in Wuse.

In a now-viral video, Olivia is seen inside a hotel room, naked, with her hands and legs tied to a plastic chair.

A staff reportedly heard her screaming and alerted the hotel management. Officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) were said to have arrested Alex on the scene.

In the footage, the alleged internet fraudster could be heard saying: “But I did not kill her, I can explain”.

In a statement, Josephine Adeh, the police spokesperson in Abuja, confirmed the arrest of the suspect by the NSCDC.

Adeh added that the NSCDC is yet to hand over Alex to the police for further investigation.

“The FCT police command is aware of the video footage making the rounds about a lady who was criminally confined in Top View hotel, Wuse, Abuja on 17th September by an alleged internet fraudster allegedly for money ritual,” she wrote on X.

“Findings revealed that the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has taken the suspect into custody and are yet to hand over to the police for diligent investigation.

“The FCT police command for all intent and purposes awaits the NSCDC to hand over all parties for commencement of diligent and discreet investigation.”
