The decomposed body of 26-year-old Nomsa Jass has been found, two weeks after she went missing in Potchefstroom, North West police said on Monday.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Amanda Funani said a joint operation between North West and Gauteng police had led to the arrest of a 29-year-old man in connection with her murder.
Jass, from Klerksdorp, was last seen on 25 August after she left her place of work in Potchefstroom.
Funani said a missing persons inquiry had been registered at the Potchefstroom police station on 26 August.

The investigation took a crucial turn when Jass’ Volkswagen Polo Vivo was discovered at a mall in Springs, she added.
“An intelligence-driven operation led to the arrest of the suspect, and the partially decomposed body of Nomsa was discovered on Sunday in the bushes along the R501 road at Blybank in Carletonville.”
The man is expected to appear in the Oberlhozer Magistrate’s Court in Carletonville on Tuesday.
He faces charges of kidnapping, robbery and murder.
North West police commissioner Lieutenant-General Sello Kwena and Gauteng commissioner Lieutenant-General Tommy Mthombeni welcomed the arrest.
