Liverpool surged to the top of the Premier League with a spirited 2-1 comeback win over Brighton at Anfield.

The complete comeback was led by Mo Salah’s stunning second-half strike.

Despite a lackluster first-half performance, new manager Arne Slot’s side rallied to seal an important win, extending Liverpool’s impressive league form under his leadership.

Brighton dominated early, with Turkish right-back Ferdi Kadioglu smashing a powerful opener past Liverpool’s stand-in goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher in the 15th minute.

The Seagulls could have added to their lead, repeatedly breaching Liverpool’s defensive line, but failed to capitalize on further chances, including a missed one-on-one by Georginio Rutter.

Trailing at halftime, Liverpool returned with renewed energy.

Cody Gakpo leveled the game in the 70th minute after a deep cross caused confusion in Brighton’s box, with the Dutch forward’s presence enough to unsettle goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen.

Three minutes later, Salah sealed the comeback in style.

Curtis Jones, on as a substitute, found Salah, who weaved into the box and delivered a trademark finish into the top corner.

The Egyptian forward’s goal marked his 162nd Premier League strike for Liverpool, securing an important win for Slot’s side.
