Stakeholders of Labour Party (LP) in Cross River State have warned the immediate-past state party chairman Mr. Ogar Osim, to desist from parading himself as chairman or risk sanction.

The party stakeholders issued the warning during the formal presentation of the new caretaker committee to party members yesterday in Càlabar, the state capital.

However, Osim, in reaction, described those pursuing him away from office as impostors. He  called for a thorough investigation of the Ushie-led group claiming he is still in charge.

The chairman of the Labour Party Caretaker Committee in the state,  Comrade John Ushie Ph.D, said Osim’s tenure had expired and he should quit carrying himself as chairman in the interest of peace in the party.

Ushie, a former chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC)  in Cross River State stressed that Ogar lacked the moral justification to claim that he is still in charge even when his tenure had elapsed.

“As a party, we cannot allow one person to who is bent on  pulling down the roof of the party for selfish and parochial interest.

“The good news is that we have been able to put an end to their evil schemes to thwart any further damage, for every evil has an expiring date.

“I want to use this opportunity to advise all and sundry that anyone who engages in doing any business as it concerns party’s issues os doing so at thier perile.

“Ogar Osim was a product of the Abure’s accidental leadership that have since expired in June 2024 and the recent non recognition of his exco by INEC is testimony that they are history of inglorious past marking the darkest period of Labour party.

“They fed so far from last elections and don’t want to leave office, failing to know thier offices are tenure bound”. He said.

Also, a youth leader in ward 6, Olulumo ward Okuni Ikom local government area of the state, Mr.Odey Nyambi, accused Osim of having penchant for suspending people from the party during the period when he served as party Chairman.

Reacting to his removal from office, the embattled state party Chairman Ogar Osim described those pursuing him away from office as impostors, calling for thorough investigation of the Ushie led group claiming he is still in charge.
