Arsenal supporters might not have their dream of having Matheus Cunha at the club before the end of the 2025 January transfer window come into reality.
The manager of Wolves, Vitor Pereira confirmed that the Portuguese international is committed to staying at the club despite rumours linking him to both Arsenal and Nottingham Forest.
Nottingham Forest are ready to make a club-record offer for Wolves forward Matheus Cunha. Forest are one of five Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, who are interested in signing the player.
According to him, Matheus Cunha has never asked to leave Wolves as he is ready to face Arsenal.
He said,
“I had a conversation with Cunha and he is very committed to the club.He has never asked to leave the club. He is here tomorrow and determined to try and beat Arsenal”.
Cunha who has two-and-a-half-years left on his contract, is a crucial part of Wolves’ team as they look to battle to stay in the Premier League. They are not under financial pressure to sell Cunha either after they made over £90m from the sales of Pedro Neto and Max Kilman last summer and their priority is to survive relegation in the Premier League.
