Ladigbolu Grammar School, Oyo celebrated its 60th anniversary with the Old Students Association honouring the founder of the school, late Chief Moses Ogunmola.

Ogunmola, who established Ladigbolu Grammar School in 1965, died on November 26, 2023, at the age of 95.

A former Nigerian Ambassador to Zambia and Malawi, Ogunmola was a distinguished historian, administrator, cultural enthusiast, and late Otun of Oyo.

The anniversary event brought together alumni who honoured Ogunmola’s legacy, highlighting his transformative contributions to education in Oyo State.

Archbishop Emeritus Ayo Ladigbolu, the Father of the Day, lauded Ogunmola’s foresight and described him as a trailblazer whose vision significantly impacted the Oyo community. Ladigbolu expressed pride in the school’s achievements over the past six decades and encouraged stakeholders to uphold the founder’s mission.

A key moment of the celebration was the inauguration of landmark projects, including a reconstructed school gate, funded by Ogunmola’s children in memory of their father, and a new road network within the school, constructed by the alumni association.

The event featured a range of activities, blending academics, culture, and sports.

A public lecture was delivered by Mr. Femi Falana (SAN), while Senator Babafemi Ojudu, a former presidential aide, presented a keynote address that emphasised the importance of proactive leadership from the new Alaafin of Oyo.
