The eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality has closed multiple beaches and public swimming pools following heavy rains across KwaZulu-Natal over the weekend.
The rains killed eight people in the province and displaced hundreds of others. Six people are still missing.
The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) said on Sunday afternoon that the most significant damage was reported in the eThekwini metro as well as the KwaDukuza and Ndwedwe local municipalities.
