The future of Kyle Walker at Manchester City has been in doubt since Pep Guardiola confirmed that the defender has asked to leave the Etihad.
Kyle Walker has just 18 months left on his current Manchester City contract but there are reports that he believes that he still has two or three more years at the top level ahead of him. There have been several approaches from clubs in the Saudi Pro League but none have so far pleaded to the England international.
Walker was accused by a Manchester City fan on social media of not showing up for matches since the beginning of news broke out that he could be leaving the Cityzens this January transfer window.
The tweet from City_Chief read,
“Kyle Walker’s behaviour is completely unacceptable. As club captain, failing to show up for matches is a disgrace. If you want to leave, do it with respect—this is not the way. Your lack of commitment has been a major factor in this disappointing campaign.”
What did Kyle Walker say about his future at Manchester United?
Walker responded to the tweet by saying he was not at Brentford because he was at the training ground.
“Failed to turn up? I can’t be at Brentford and training at the same time. You may need to check your sources 💙”
However, it is yet to be confirmed if Walker will leave Manchester City this January or wait until the end of the season.
