Get ready for the largest youth forum at the United Nations! From April 16th – 18th, 2024, young people from around the world will converge both physically at the UN Headquarters in New York and online to drive action and share perspectives on crucial issues such as sustainable development, climate action, peace and security, AI, and much more. But that’s not all – mark your calendars for the Youth Blast on April 15th, 2024, featuring capacity-building and training activities in New York.
Theme and Purpose: The theme of the 2024 ECOSOC Youth Forum is aligned with the 2024 High-level Political Forum: “Reinforcing the 2030 Agenda and eradicating poverty in times of multiple crises: the effective delivery of sustainable, resilient, and innovative solutions”. This presents an exceptional opportunity for young people to present their views, ideas, and vision to Member States ahead of the Summit of the Future scheduled for September 2024.
Format and Participation: The event will adopt a hybrid format, allowing for both in-person and virtual participation. Expect engaging plenary sessions with representatives from youth organizations, high-level speakers, and keynote presentations. Throughout the forum, youth speakers will deliver short presentations, sharing personal stories and innovative solutions related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Expression of Interest: Interested in attending? Fill out the expression of interest form by the deadline: February 15, 2024. Please note, this is an expression of interest form, and participants will be selected through a rigorous selection process. While there is currently no financial support available from the UN or its youth partners, any funded opportunities in the future will be shared with registered participants.
Engagement Opportunities: There are numerous opportunities to engage leading up to and during the forum, including speaking roles, facilitation roles, and contributing to the drafting of the youth outcome report. Stay tuned for more details, which will be published on the official webpage.
