Newcastle United missed the chance to go top of the Premier League, suffering their first defeat of the season in a 3-1 loss to Fulham.
Fulham took control early at Craven Cottage, with Raul Jimenez opening the scoring.
This happened after he expertly controlled a pass and finishing just moments after Joelinton’s goal was disallowed for offside.
The home side doubled their lead in the 22nd minute through Emile Smith-Rowe, whose first-time strike from an Alex Iwobi assist slipped past goalkeeper Nick Pope.
Newcastle pulled one back in the second-half, with Harvey Barnes scoring a low shot to narrow the deficit.
However, Fulham took control again, and substitute Reiss Nelson sealed the victory with a late goal after Bruno Guimaraes’ error.
The defeat dents Newcastle’s unbeaten start to the campaign, allowing Fulham to claim a deserved win.
