Fifteen toilets are said to have been built for a single household in Ladysmith.

In a province where nearly 50% of homes have no flushing toilets, the IFP-led uThukela District Municipality allegedly built 15 outside toilets for a single rural home and, by its own account, the municipality has no answers as to how this happened.

Low-resolution images sent to News24 show several toilets built on a single property.

Municipal spokesperson Nothile Zwane didn’t dispute the number of toilets built on the one property in Ladysmith’s Ward 10 and said the municipality was investigating the matter.
