Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has confirmed that Inter Milan made a serious approach for him over the summer.
However, the club’s €15 million asking price stalled the move.
Inter were seeking a backup and potential successor to Yann Sommer, but the transfer didn’t materialize.
“The interest from Inter was concrete, but Udinese were asking for €15 million to buy me,” Okoye told Transfermark.
“It would’ve been a dream, but I don’t regret how things went. I’m happy to be the number one here.”
The Nigerian international, who has 16 senior caps, also stated his commitment to Udinese and his desire to remain in Italy.
“I want to stay in Italy. I like this land, the people, and the atmosphere. My focus is on Udinese, and I don’t see myself leaving in January.”
