
A woman who was among scores of Gold One mineworkers allegedly held hostage underground at the Gold One Modder East Operations in Springs claimed she feared for her life as days went by.
“For the past three days and nights, I silently prayed for my life to be spared.”
So said a mother of one who was among more than 500 mineworkers allegedly held hostage underground by their colleagues who were armed with traditional sticks at the Gold One Modder East Operations in Springs.
The woman, who refused to be identified fearing victimisation, told News24 she feared for her life as she prayed for the impasse to end.
