Gent manager Hein Vanhaezebrouck has hailed Gift Orban’s exceptional goal qualities, noting that the Nigeria international is a player every manager wants in his team.

Despite spending five months in the Belgian Jupiler League in the 2022/23 season, the Nigerian sensational striker has established himself as one of the best scorers in Belgium.

The youngster moved to Gent from the Norwegian second-division club, Stabaek in January and has proved to be the best player for the Buffalos

His sterling performance earned him Gent Player and Goal of the Month for February and March respectively

Orban’s outstanding display has seen him score 20 goals and register two assists in 20 appearances across all competitions.

“With Gift, if you look at the figures, they are the most striking with twenty goals, that is unimaginable, ” Vanhaezebrouck said as quoted by Het Nieuwsblad.

“Gift is simply just a phenomenon.

“At every event when we had sessions, everyone wants something from him.

“I see him in training scoring two or three great balls in just a few minutes.

“I haven’t seen that very often. It just stays that way; our mouths often fall open.

“Will he surprise me? No, it’s just enjoyment, every day we watch with a smile on our faces.

“He is an incredible weapon that everyone wants.”
