The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has announced the dissolution of both the Niger Delta Ministry and the Ministry of Sports Development.
The responsibilities of the sports ministry will now be managed by the National Sports Commission (NSC).
In a significant restructuring, a new Ministry of Regional Development will supervise various regional development commissions, including the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), North West Development Commission (NWDC), South West Development Commission (SWDC), and North East Development Commission (NEDC).

These decisions were made during a meeting at the State House in Abuja, presided over by President Bola Tinubu. Additionally, the FEC approved the merger of the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.
