Fabregas ‘doubts’ VAR after controversial penalty decision in Como’s defeat to Juventus

Cesc Fabregas has expressed frustration over Como’s controversial 2-1 defeat to Juventus, blaming VAR after his team was denied a penalty.

Randal Kolo Muani opened the scoring against the run of play before Assane Diao equalized with a free header just before halftime for Como.

Juventus, however, secured the win with a spot kick from Kolo Muani late into the game, leaving Como empty-handed despite a strong performance.

Fabregas was particularly upset over a missed penalty call involving Federico Gatti, who appeared to handle the ball inside the box.

Despite a VAR check, no penalty was awarded.

“There is no other interpretation, it is a very clear penalty,” Fabregas told Sky Sport Italia.

“Without the touch from the hand, my player is clear on goal. When VAR evaluates that and says nothing, I have doubts in my mind,” he added.
