Manchester City’s forward player, Erling Haaland has written his name in the stars as he steps into the realm of becoming one of the greatest players.
The Norweigan was named the best player in the men’s category by UEFA during the draw of the Champions League which was held in Morocco on Thursday, August 31, 2023. This was the same week he was named the winner of the Professional Footballers’ Association ( PFA) for the 2022/23 season.
Erling Haaland became the first player to first player to be named FWA Footballer of the Year, PFA Players’ Player of the Year and UEFA Men’s Player of the Year in the same season since Cristiano Ronaldo did in 2007/08. The Portuguese went on to win the Ballon D’or in the same year.
The 22-year-old scored 36 goals in the Premier League, 12 goals in the Champions League, three goals in the FA Cup and one goal in the Carabao Cup. The PFA members vote for the winners of each award, choosing the players they feel have put in the best performances all year.
