The opening game of the Nigeria Professional Football League Super 6 playoffs produced a frenetic atmosphere as Enyimba and Remo Stars played out a 2-2 draw at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on Saturday,  PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Fans of both sides were buzzing and the game opened up to a lively start with Enyimba’s Fatai Abdulahi hitting the post as early as the fifth minute while Remo also had some couple of chances which they couldn’t make the most of.

After a goalless first half, league top scorer, Obioma had his first shot on target 10 minutes into the second half, but his sweeping shot from an acute angle was kept out by Kayode Bankole in Remo’s goal.

The People’s Elephant eventually broke the deadlock on the stroke of an hour courtesy of Adiele Eruigo who slotted into the bottom left corner after being fed by the evasive Obioma.

Second half substitute Junior Lokosa restored parity for Remo Stars with his first touch of the game by tucking in Adams Olamilekan’s square ball.

While Daniel Ogunmodede’s tried to capitalize on their momentum, they found themselves on the wrong foot again as captain Nduka Junior conceded a penalty after bringing down an Enyimba player in his box.

Obioma stepped up and made slotted home the spot kick calmly to restore Enyimba’s lead.

The intensity of the game rose with the remaining minutes and atonement eventually came for Nduka, who scored from a beautifully executed free kick to draw the game level in stoppage time.
