An education advocate, Dr Seun Osamaye, has donated an ultra-modern library to the Adeyemi Federal University of Education in Ondo, Ondo State.

According to her, the donation followed her passion to continuously develop and strengthen the educational sector.

A statement on Tuesday quoted Osamaye as emphasising the relevance of education towards national growth at the inauguration of the facility last Thursday.

She said, “Developing the nation starts from the classroom. I decided to build and donate this library not because I earn much but because I believe our students need a conducive place for studying and for them to cultivate a culture of reading and learning.

“I have long been a champion of education and believe that access to quality educational resources is a fundamental right of every student.

“Recognising the crucial role that libraries play in facilitating learning and research, I spared no effort in ensuring that the library at Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo is equipped with the latest technologies and resources.”

The ultra-modern library is comprised of a comprehensive collection of books across various fields, ensuring that students and faculty have access to a vast array of academic literature and research materials, digital resources, and seamless access to online databases and journals, among others.

A former Provost of the institution, Prof Adeyemi Ìdòwú, urged notable Nigerians to embrace education and provide facilities as such to help the students grow academically.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor of the institution appreciated Osamaye for this gesture and noted that “By providing this ultramodern library, Dr. Osamaye has demonstrated his firm belief in the transformative power of education.

“This facility will undoubtedly serve as a hub of intellectual stimulation, encouraging students to explore their passions and cultivate a lifelong love for learning.”

In his address, the Minister Of Education, Prof Tahir Maman, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Federal University Of Technology, Akure, Prof. Taiwo Amos, noted that the facility will strengthen the academic performance of students.

The lawmaker representing Ondo West Constituency II at the state House of Assembly, Biola Oladapo, noted that the library stands as a symbol of progress and innovation and will shape the future of education in the institution.
