Dapper Music & Entertainment has responded to allegations following the departure of Shallipopi, whose real name is Crown Uzama, from the label.
This came after Shallipopi announced his exit from the record label, accusing it of distrust, mismanagement of funds and abuse of artist’s rights.
In a detailed press release shared on Instagram, the label emphasized its commitment to transparency, fairness, and integrity in its dealings while addressing the allegations.
The label stated that after Shalipopi’s first album success, he was allowed to renegotiate terms with full legal representation. On October 28, 2024, new terms were agreed upon, granting him the freedom to explore other opportunities while maintaining a mutually beneficial partnership.
Surprised by the allegations, Dapper Music claims to have provided clear financial records and is cooperating fully with auditors engaged by Shalipopi.
Also, it addressed accusations that another artist, Muyeez allegedly signed a contract as a minor. Clarifying this, the label stated that the agreement was signed by his legal guardian and witnessed appropriately.
