Should the ANC fail to hand over its cadre deployment records by Monday, the DA will be petitioning the Constitutional Court to charge the ruling party with contempt of court – the very same charge that landed former president Jacob Zuma behind bars.

A week ago, the Constitutional Court decided that it was not in the interests of justice to hear the ANC’s appeal against an order that it should hand over the party’s cadre deployment records for the period that President Cyril Ramaphosa chaired the deployment committee.

This meant that the ANC has five working days to hand over the records to the DA’s Leon Schreiber.
