The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) invites young professionals to apply for the 2024 OSCE Scholarship for Peace and Security. This unique opportunity aims to empower individuals, particularly women, to actively engage in the security sector, focusing on conflict prevention and resolution. The scholarship program offers a comprehensive training course that spans nine weeks online followed by one week in-person in Vienna, Austria.

About the Scholarship: The OSCE Scholarship for Peace and Security in the OSCE Area is designed to equip young professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge to address challenges in the security sector, particularly in the politico-military security field. The program emphasizes preventive measures, mediation support, arms control, disarmament, non-proliferation, and confidence-building within the OSCE area.

Application Details: Applications for the 2024 OSCE Scholarship for Peace and Security are open from 5 to 22 March 2024. To be eligible, candidates must demonstrate a curiosity for conflict prevention and resolution, an interest in arms control, disarmament, and non-proliferation, as well as leadership potential.

  • Politico-military tools in the OSCE area
  • Regional Confidence- and Security-Building Measures
  • Control of firearms, ammunition, and mines
  • Non-proliferation of conventional and weapons of mass destruction
  • Impact of new technologies on peace and disarmament processes
  • Modern warfare tactics
  • Terrorism prevention and countermeasures
  • Conflict and post-conflict rehabilitation processes
  • Other cross-cutting issues related to security
