The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has asked the presidential election petitions tribunal to adjourn hearing until June 9.

On Friday, APM’s new lead counsel, Yakubu Maikyau, informed the court that the party had not received a copy of the judgment declined by the Supreme Court two weeks ago.

Therefore, the party pleaded with the court to adjourn the case until June 9, as the copy of the apex court judgment would enable them to take a position on the petition’s status.

The counsels to President Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Kashim Shettima and Kabuiru Masari agreed to the adjournment request.

Based on the unanimous agreement by the respondents, the tribunal, presided over by Justice Haruna Simon Tsammani, accepted the plea and adjourned the case until June 9.
