Andoni Iraola has been named the Premier League manager of the month for January 2025 following his impressive performance for Bournemouth.
This is the second time that Andoni Iraola will be winning the award for the second time in his career. He went through the month of January unbeaten, winning three matches and drawing the other, with his team scoring 12 goals in the process.
The Cherries began January with a 1-0 win over Everton, followed by a 2-2 draw at Chelsea. They went on to win 4-1 away to a Newcastle United side who were undefeated in nine matches across all competitions, before they ended the month with an incredible 5-0 win against third-placed Nottingham Forest, a result that extended Bournemouth’s unbeaten league run to 11 matches and moved them up to sixth place in the table.
This is his second manager of the month award after he won the first on March 2024, making him the second Bournemouth manager to win the award on multiple occasions, after Eddie Howe, who won it three times with the Cherries between 2017 and 2018.
Iraola topped a four-man shortlist that also included Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta, Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola and Newcastle’s Howe, after votes from the public were combined with those of a panel of experts. The award is a double celebration for Bournemouth fans after Justin Kluivert scooped the best player of the month award.
