An educational support initiative, the Bola Tinubu Educational Support Programme, has given bursary awards to no fewer than 200 indigent undergraduates from different universities in Ekiti State.
The sponsor of the initiative and associate of the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Adegboyega Bamisile, said that the gesture, which would be on an annual basis, was to support the educational growth of the beneficiaries and indeed needy students in the state.
Bamisile, who spoke in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, while presenting bursary awards to the beneficiaries, who are first year students in the universities in the state, said, “The goal is to help the vulnerable and the less-privileged and as well bridge the gap between the rich and the poor in society”.
He said that the gesture, which was to assist the needy in society, “aligns with the vision of Tinubu to ensure all Nigerian children have unrestrained access to qualitative education in view of the importance of education to development and nation building”.
