Following a disappointing first season in the English Premier League, Nigeria international, Joe Aribo, has been handed a lifeline to revive his career with Turkish giants, Galatasaray, interested in signing the midfielder, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Aribo arrived in England last summer, following a transfer deal worth €6m that saw him leave Scottish Premiership giants Glasglow Rangers for the Saints.

The Super Eagles midfielder was impressive during his three years spell with the Scottish giants, scoring 26 goals and registering 25 assists in 149 appearances.

He also won the Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup before making the move to the Premier League.

After he got off to a bright start where he was handed regular playing time under former boss Ralph Hasenhuttl and featured in 15 matches, scoring two goals across all competitions, things turned sour for the midfielder when Nathan Jones was brought in as the manager following the sacking of Hasenhuttl in November.

Since the beginning of the year, the 26-year-old made just three appearances from the 21 league matches played.

He was even dropped to the Southampton youth team while Ruben Selles was in charge.

Following the Saints’ relegation, the club are looking to offload some players to shed some financial weight, and Aribo may be one of the players they may be willing to sell.

In a Twitter post by Dijital Aslanlar, Galatasaray are looking to sign Aribo when the summer transfer window opens.

“One of the names on Galatasaray’s transfer list is 26-year-old Joe Aribo,” the tweet read.

Galatasaray are the Turkish champions and they want to add qualities to their squad as they are poised to play in the UEFA Champions League

They just won the Super Lig and would be looking to improve the team as they prepare to defend their title and qualify for the Champions League.
