We have an opening for a United Nations Volunteer position. This is an entry level position based in Cairo for a year. We require at least 3 years of prior experience in communications, public relations, international development, journalism, etc.; and fluency in Arabic.
What do we offer via the UNV position? A vibrant and dynamic team working to deliver the premier world conference on sustainable urbanisation; as well as the following:
• Volunteer Living Allowance (around USD 2138.75/Month)
• Entry Lump-Sum = USD 4000 (Two-time payment paid in USD)
• Exit Lump-Sum upon completion of contract.
• Medical and life Insurance premium/Cigna (100%) and dependents policy.
• Also, UNV’s are staff members of the UN common system and therefore eligible to apply for higher P-level positions thereafter.
Eligibility criteria
Age: 27 – 80
Nationality: Candidate must be a national of a country other than the country of assignment.Requirements
Required experience:
3 years of experience in in communications, public relations, international development, journalism, project management, or related disciplines. – A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. – A progressively responsible experience in development projects, programme management, advocacy and partnerships, public relations, communications or related area. Good understanding of issues concerning sustainable urban development, with a focus on cross-cutting issues (human rights, gender, youth, climate change) and partnerships. – Knowledge of the sociopolitical situation of Egypt and the Arab Region. – International experiences an asset, especially with the United Nations System.

Required education level: Master degree or equivalent in Advocacy and partnerships, public relations, communications, programme management, project development.
