Ganduje promises to win Kogi, Imo, Bayelsa gov polls as APC chair

The new National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Abdullahi Ganduje, on Thursday, promised to work assiduously in ensuring the party’s victory in the November 11, 2023 governorship polls in Imo, Kogi, and Bayelsa.

Ganduje made this vow in his acceptance speech as the party’s chair after his emergence at the 12th APC National Executive Committee meeting held at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton in Abuja.

The party’s NEC also elected former Senate spokesman, Ajibola Basiru, from Osun State as its National Secretary.

While thanking President Bola Tinubu, he also promised that internal democracy would prevail in the party during his tenure.

In his words, ” We will ensure a level-playing field for all party members that want to contest elections under the party’s platform. Our primary elections will be free transparent and fair.

“Let me also use this opportunity to call on all members of the party and all the people of Kogi, Imo, and Bayelsa states to close ranks to ensure the APC wins the forthcoming governorship elections.

“As we forward, let me assure you that as National Chairman, I will deal with integrity, transparency, and a deep sense of responsibility. Let us work tirelessly, together to build bridges of understanding and chart a course for a great APC…”

The former Kano State Governor also pledged to ensure a scientific register of party members and pay the utmost attention to election management and conflict resolution.
