RB Leipzig manager Marco Rose in his latest press conference has directly addressed rumours and speculations of a possible transfer move for Benjamin Sesko.
RB Leipzig manager Marco Rose has dismissed the rumors and speculations about Benjamin Sesko leaving the club in the January transfer window.
Arsenal, who were strongly linked with the striker in the summer, remain interested, especially with injuries to Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus.
Sesko has scored 12 goals in all competitions for Leipzig this season, including three in the Champions League. Reports suggest Arsenal might make a move for the 21-year-old this month. However, Rose stated in a press conference, “That’s not the case, not the topic for us.”
Arsenal had pushed to sign Sesko in the summer when he had a release clause of £55 million, but the striker extended his contract at Leipzig through to 2029, removing the release clause and putting the Bundesliga club in a strong position should they decide to sell.
There have been claims that Arsenal are keen on a loan deal for Sesko with an option to buy in the summer, but his agent Elvis Basanovic confirmed that the Slovenian is not available for loan.
Basanovic told GiveMeSport, “I have never talked with Arsenal about a loan move for Sesko. Sesko is not a player for loans and this was never a topic with Arsenal or any other club. If you ask me if Sesko will move in January, I can only say Sesko is a RB Leipzig player and fully focused on that.”
